Our main Focus is to eradicate poverty from our communities – Manager BACCSOD
The Dormaa Ahenkro Branch Manager of the Bono-Ahafo Catholic Cooperative Society for Development (BACCSOD), Mr. Edwin Akae Nettey, has articulated that BACCSOD’s primary objective is to alleviate hardship and poverty in the communities where they function. Thus, they are dedicated to contributing to society whenever the need arises.
He proclaimed this assertion after donating more than one thousand exercise books to certain chosen schools in and around Dormaa Ahenkro as part of their 50th anniversary celebration.
He encouraged everyone to collaborate with them, as they have a poverty alleviation program that includes saving schemes, group loans, commercial loans, funeral loans, and other initiatives aimed at eradicating hardship, as BACCSOD is considered a beacon of hope for all, as their customary greetings and responses suggest.
Revealing the purpose behind the donation of books and pens to students, the Branch Manager addressed the audience, stating that education lies at the core of the institution’s mission.
He expressed a desire for both the community and students to reap the benefits of the institution. He mentioned that their visits were made to certain schools with underprivileged students, aiming to help these students realize their dreams.
Mr. Kwame Appiah, the Board Chairman of BACCSOD, urged the students to approach their education with dedication and to seek clarification whenever they encounter difficulties.
He emphasized the importance of refraining from immoral behaviors such as theft and encouraged them to diligently complete their assignments. He assured them of their inherent brilliance, urging them to pursue their studies earnestly to achieve greater heights.
The headteachers of the beneficiary schools expressed their gratitude and bestowed blessings upon BACCSOD and its staff for their kind gesture toward enhancing educational excellence
