Okaikwei North MP Launches Obaa Naa Training Skills School

The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North Constituency, Hon. Theresah Awuni Lardi, has officially launched the Obaa Naa Training Skills School, a major initiative aimed at equipping more than 500 young people with practical vocational skills.
Speaking to the media at the launch, Hon. Lardi stated that the programme is designed to empower the youth in the constituency with employable skills that will promote economic independence and sustainable livelihoods. She explained that the training will provide participants with hands-on experience and the necessary tools to enable them to establish their own businesses or secure meaningful employment.
According to the MP, the initiative forms part of her broader commitment to youth development and poverty reduction within the constituency. She emphasized that skills training remains a critical pathway to addressing unemployment, particularly among young people.
In addition to the vocational training programme, Hon. Lardi revealed that she is sponsoring mock examinations for both public and private schools within the constituency. The initiative is intended to adequately prepare students for their final examinations and improve academic performance across the area.
As part of efforts to strengthen the programme, Hon. Lardi collaborated with the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, to distribute essential tools and start-up equipment to newly trained artisans. The presentation formed part of the broader National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) rollout, which benefited over 1,300 apprentices across the Greater Accra Region on February 13, 2026.
The Obaa Naa Training Skills School is expected to significantly enhance youth employability and contribute to economic growth within the Okaikwei North Constituency.
