Lawyer Amma Frimpomaa, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Sunyani West, has outlined her primary focus on youth and women empowerment to drive accelerated development within the constituency.

Following her successful vetting in the Bono Regional process, she emphasized the creation of job opportunities for the youth and the improvement of the road network.

In an interview with the media, Lawyer Frimpomaa affirmed her commitment to addressing key issues hindering economic activities in the area.

“My primary focus is on empowering the youth and women, creating more job opportunities for wealth creation, and improving the road network,” she stated.

Competing against two other aspirants, Mr. Mubarik Abdullah Ciessey and the incumbent MP, Mr. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Lawyer Frimpomaa is the sole female aspirant among 12 vying for parliamentary leadership across five constituencies in the Bono region. The parliamentary primaries are scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Expressing concern about the NPP’s declining votes in the constituency, particularly in the 2020 elections, she underscored the need for the party to capture and retain more parliamentary seats in the upcoming 2024 elections.

“The NPP lost key seats in the 2020 elections, and immediate steps must be taken to avoid further losses in the impending general election,” she warned.
