Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George, has emphatically stated that the NDC caucus does not plan to return to Parliament.
According to him, with just three weeks to the upcoming elections, there is no need for NDC parliamentarians to reappear in the House. He asserted that even if the Speaker of Parliament issues a recall, the caucus will not comply.
Speaking on TV3’s Key Points, Sam George remarked, “Any attempt to recall us will be an exercise in futility. We won’t come because we have just three weeks to the elections.”
Parliament was recently adjourned sine die after the NPP caucus failed to attend a recalled session.
In a related development, the Supreme Court of Ghana ruled that the Speaker lacked the authority to declare four parliamentary seats vacant. Alexander Afenyo Markin has since urged the Speaker and the NDC caucus to respect this decision.
