KAS Eupen midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has been left out of the 25-man squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola, announced by the new coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton. Despite his experience with over 70 national team appearances and 13 goals scored, Wakaso’s absence from the squad suggests that his time with the team may be coming to an end.
Wakaso had been hoping to make a comeback to the team after missing out on the World Cup in Qatar, but his lack of play time since November raises questions about whether it was a technical decision or an injury.
The Black Stars will face Angola in Kumasi on March 23, followed by a reverse fixture in Luanda four days later.
