Ghana’s captain for the day, Mohammed Kudus, missed a last-minute penalty that would have seen Ghana draw at home against Niger in the AFCON 2025 qualifier.

The game ended in a 2-1 defeat but was an opportunity for some local players who were invited by coach Otto Addo to have their debut games.

Ghana’s only goal in the game was scored by Division Three Side Thoughts FC’s striker Jerry Afriyie.
