Mohammed Kudus, the West Ham United player, expressed his gratitude after winning two awards at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards in Accra on Saturday.
The Ghanaian football star was named Footballer of the Year and also received the Goal of the Year award for his impressive performances with West Ham United and the national team.
During his debut season in the Premier League, Kudus scored eight goals and provided six assists. He also made significant contributions in the Europa League, scoring five goals for his club. Additionally, he was recognized as Ghana’s top player during the Africa Cup of Nations, scoring two goals and earning consecutive Man of the Match awards, despite the team exiting the tournament in the group stage.
On social media, Kudus shared his appreciation: “THE MARATHON CONTINUES. Highly honored and grateful for the recognition. Thanks to everyone for the belief and support.”
This marks the second consecutive year that Kudus, a graduate of the Right to Dream Academy, has been named the best player. It is also his first time receiving the Goal of the Year award, which he earned for his remarkable solo goal against Freiburg in the Europa League Round of 16.
