Man Beaten to Death for Attempting to Steal Grand Bird Bus in Kumasi

A man in his mid-30s was reportedly beaten to death in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, for attempting to steal a Grand Bird bus. The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, when the deceased entered the V.I.P Transport Company terminal around 4am and started the bus with registration number GE 2304-10.

 

The driver’s assistant of the bus and some members of the public chased the suspect in a tricycle, causing him to abandon the moving bus before being apprehended by the mob who subjected him to severe beatings. The abandoned bus caused damage to a car before coming to a halt. The deceased’s body was conveyed to a morgue for preservation and investigation by the police in Asokwa.

Police Dispatch Rider Crashed to Death on Accra-Kumasi Highway

A police dispatch rider, G/L/CPL Rauf Iddrisu, escorting a convoy from Accra towards Kumasi, has been killed in a crash at Osino on the main Accra-Kumasi highway. The accident occurred on March 3, 2023, after Rauf Iddrisu crashed head-on with a Kia Grandbird VIP bus with registration number GW 9944-10, driven by the suspect driver, 44-year-old Samuel Boateng.

 

The impact of the crash led to the total mangling of Rauf Iddrisu’s Honda motorcycle, and his remains were transported to the police hospital in Accra for autopsy. Another experienced police dispatch rider with the Eastern Regional Command, Chief Inspector Stephen Mensah, has also passed away after a short illness.
