Cargill Cares has completed a successful community outreach program at the Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf, combining healthcare improvements with an Easter celebration that benefitted hundreds of students. The initiative, held on Saturday, March 28, is part of Cargill Cares’ ongoing commitment to community development and social impact in Ghana.
The outreach focused on enhancing healthcare access for the students while celebrating the Easter season with acts of generosity and fellowship. As part of the program, Cargill Cares furnished the school’s clinic, including the doctors’ consulting room and two wards, which had recently been renovated with support from Worship Tabernacle Shaping Lives. The new furnishings ensure that the clinic is better equipped to meet the health needs of the students.
In addition to the clinic upgrade, Cargill Cares donated essential medical consumables to support the routine healthcare services for both students and staff.
The event also included a special Easter celebration for approximately 600 students. The students enjoyed a buffet lunch and received various food items and essentials to support their nutritional needs. Donated items included 20 bags of 25kg rice, 10 gallons of Frytol oil, 20 cartons of oats, five cartons of Gino tomato paste, five bags of sugar, 10 crates of Milo, 10 trays of Ideal Milk, toilet rolls, noodles, mackerel, and Lele spaghetti.
Max Essoh Latte, Managing Director of Cargill Ghana, expressed the company’s commitment to making a positive impact in communities, particularly in education and healthcare. “We are delighted to support the Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf, not only by improving their healthcare facilities but also by sharing the joy of Easter with the students. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to nurturing communities and empowering lives,” he said.
The school’s administration expressed deep gratitude for the support, noting that the intervention would significantly improve healthcare services and the overall wellbeing of the students.
Through initiatives like this, Cargill Cares continues to demonstrate its dedication to creating sustainable impact and enhancing the quality of life in the communities where it operates.
