The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, has taken to the streets in response to actor and politician John Dumelo’s declaration of interest in the seat.

Alhassan won the seat in 2020 with 39,851 votes, while Dumelo came in second with 37,778 votes. Inactive since then, Alhassan organized a Keep Fit Walk to energize her base after Dumelo’s announcement.

Alhassan won the parliamentary seat for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election in 2019 with 68.80% of the valid votes cast.

Dumelo has accused her of neglecting her responsibilities, including failing to address robberies on the GIMPA-Legon road and flooding in the constituency.
