A trending news on Twitter has reported that two women, Chioma and Amaka, who were recently engaged and set to wed, have been arrested by the police in Ogidi, Anambra State, for allegedly engaging in lesbianism. The couple was caught by the police while indulging in the act at a beer parlour owned by one of them.

According to sources, members of the LGBTQ+ community in the state have started mobilizing lawyers to help prevent the women from being imprisoned, along with other members currently caught up in the police dragnet. The lesbian family is also raising funds from members in different regions of the state to cover their legal bills.

The Ogidi Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Isa Mohammed, has vowed to ensure that the suspects are jailed as a deterrent. One of the women has reportedly confessed to being a lesbian, claiming that the devil made her do it. However, Mohammed urged anyone interested in the case to wait until the day of judgment, when everything will become clear.
