The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on party faithful in Kasoa to put aside their internal differences and unite for the development of the constituency.

Addressing the media during his Thank You Tour of the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah admonished supporters aligned with both the Member of Parliament and the Constituency Chairman to end the ongoing wrangling that has plagued the party since the December 7, 2024 general election.

The Kasoa branch of the NDC has been engulfed in internal divisions, with factions emerging around the Member of Parliament, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, and the Constituency Chairman, Stephen Ofosu Agyare.

The dispute, party insiders say, has created tension within the local party structure and threatens to undermine its electoral fortunes.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah warned that persistent division could stall development efforts in the constituency and potentially cost the party the parliamentary seat in future elections.

“Division retards development,” he emphasized, urging party leaders and supporters to “let everything go and work hand in hand” if they truly desire progress for both the constituency and the party.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, used the occasion to address allegations leveled against her by some party members.

She denied claims that she had withheld appointments and job opportunities meant for party faithful.

The MP also refuted allegations that she had received funds from the National Chairman and kept them for personal use.

According to her, such claims are false and are being circulated to tarnish her image within the party.
