President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he will continue to believe in due process in the fight against corruption.

He has told his critics that no matter the stack he receives as a result of his belief in due process, he will continue to allow the processes to work.

The President was responding to claims that he is a “Clearing Agent” who shields his corrupt appointees.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was speaking at the Commissioning of the Law House on Monday, June 10, 2024, when he made this known.

He said “…I am sure we are all aware of the statement by the former president and perennial NDC presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama stigmatizing me as a clearing agent because for him mere allegation without more is enough to merit condemnation of an accused public official. Especially one of my administration.”

He added, “For my part and let me state it again for the record, I will not set aside due process and the rules of natural justice on the altar of the fight against corruption no matter how much opprobrium this position incurs for me”.
