Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, the forward for Hamburger SV, has been given a call-up to the Ghana national team ahead of this month’s international break for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications.
The Black Stars will play Angola in a double-header, with the first game on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and the second on March 27 at the Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda. Königsdörffer completed his nationality switch in July 2022 and made his debut as a substitute in a friendly win against Nicaragua in September 2022.
Although he was excluded from the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, his impressive form this season has earned him a place in the current squad.
Ghana leads Group E of the qualifiers, followed by Angola, Central African Republic, and Madagascar.
