The Queen Mother of Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, Nana Akua Esaaba I, has pledged to secure scholarships for students who excel in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
As part of her social responsibility initiatives, the Queen Mother together with the traditional leaders (Nananom), has distributed mathematical sets to 820 BECE candidates from various public schools in Gomoa Buduburam to support their preparation for the upcoming examinations.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Nana Akua Esaaba I advised the students to remain focused on their academic work and avoid distractions such as early relationships, drug abuse, and other negative influences that could hinder their performance.
She further assured that the traditional authorities are committed to supporting brilliant but needy students through scholarship schemes to enable them to further their education.
In addition, she disclosed that the traditional council has placed a ban on weekly funerals and the printing of funeral cloth in the area.
According to her, this measure is intended to help parents reduce unnecessary expenses and redirect their resources towards their children’s education.
Meanwhile, some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the support and pledged to study diligently to achieve excellent results in the examination.
