GNFS Northern Region Loses Key Fire Tender While Responding to Emergency

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Northern Region has suffered a major operational setback after one of its key fire tenders caught fire while responding to an emergency on Kamina Road.

The crew was heading to a fire outbreak when flames suddenly erupted from beneath the vehicle, forcing the driver to make an emergency stop to prevent further danger. The blaze caused extensive damage, with the tender’s tyres completely burnt and deformed due to the intense heat.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported among the officers on board. The affected tender is considered one of the strongest and most reliable vehicles currently serving the Northern Region, making its loss particularly unfortunate for emergency response operations.

The vehicle has since been towed from the scene for assessment and investigation. Details regarding the cause of the fire remain unknown, and authorities are yet to release an official statement.
The incident underscores the importance of reliable fire-fighting equipment, especially as the region continues to experience fire related emergencies.

Community members and observers are closely monitoring the situation as investigations continue.
