After his incredible hat-trick against Newcastle, EVAN FERGUSON was compared to a “young Alan Shearer”.

At the Amex Stadium on Saturday, the Seagulls defeated the Magpies thanks to three goals from the Irishman.

For Brighton versus Newcastle, Evan Ferguson was outstanding.

Ferguson was compared by Chris Sutton as a “young Alan Shearer.”

Shearer is the all-time highest scorer in the Premier League.

After Nick Pope mishandled a shot from Billy Gilmour, Ferguson’s first goal demonstrated his instincts for scoring goals. He pounced onto a loose ball in the box and slammed it home.

The striker’s second goal, which he curled in from 30 yards, was the best of the three.

In order to accomplish his hat-trick, the 18-year-old did have some luck because Fabian Schar’s shoddy defending allowed Ferguson to get the better of Pope.

Many people, including Chris Sutton, a former Premier League striker, were impressed by his performance.

Sutton, 50, praised Ferguson’s physicality and finishing, and he acknowledged that it made him think of his former Blackburn teammate Shearer.

“He reminds me of a young Alan Shearer,” he said in the Daily Mail. When I look at Evan Ferguson, I see that.

“I watched Alan score a ton of goals for Blackburn from the greatest seat in the house. His stance, physicality, and finishing all had a natural feel to them.

Ferguson, who is only 18 years old, is already showing the qualities that made Alan a complete threat to Premier League defenders.

With 260 goals, Shearer holds the record for most Premier League goals scored in the league’s history.

With only 26 appearances, Ferguson has scored ten goals in the league.

The Irish international, who has the option of moving to England, might, in Sutton’s opinion, top the £115 million Brighton received for selling Moises Caicedo to Chelsea this summer.

Ferguson won’t let these headlines get to him, the speaker continued. He seems like a decent person who will maintain his modesty and continue to put in effort.

If he wants to continue being compared to someone like Alan Shearer for the rest of his career, he will realize he still has a long way to go.

“He might turn out to be the biggest Brighton transfer yet, and they paid $115 million for Moises Caicedo,” said one observer.
