Hon. Rachel Ama Owusuaa, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, has awarded 18 teachers in the maiden edition of the MP’s Best Teacher Awards as part of her commitment to enhancing educational progress in the district during her 2024 campaign.

During the Awards Ceremony, she noted that, in alignment with her campaign promises, she intends to annually recognize the best-performing teachers within the Constituency. This initiative aims to complement the National Teachers and other Awards schemes, thereby motivating educators to elevate their contributions towards achieving educational excellence in the district, a promise she has diligently sought to fulfill.

She took this opportunity to commend all the awarded teachers, encouraging them to continue their commendable efforts, emphasizing that their contributions are acknowledged and urging them to persist in their endeavors to advance education within the district.
On his Part, Mr. Philip Adom Danso, the Director of Education for Dormaa East, remarked that this event marks a historic occasion, as it is the first of its kind since the district was established from the Dormaa Municipal area. He expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the financial support provided to the Education Directorate, which enabled the successful execution of the program.

Mr. Danso emphasized that such awards and recognitions serve as a significant source of motivation for educators, encouraging them to enhance educational standards within the district. He urged those who did not receive awards to remain focused and committed to their efforts, with the hope of achieving recognition in future ceremonies.

Some beneficiary teachers expressed their gratitude to the Member of Parliament for her acknowledgment of their contributions towards education in the District. They emphasized that this recognition will significantly motivate many teachers to exert greater effort towards enhancing educational excellence.
They urged the Member of Parliament, government and subsequent governments to intensify this initiative, advocating for its implementation on an annual basis to ensure continuous motivation for teachers.
