Come and Misbehave in Volta Too If You Are Woman Enough – NDC’s Deputy Treasurer Dares Hawa Koomson
In a bold and provocative statement, Hon. Wisdom Akpabli, Assemblymember for Wute Electoral Area and Deputy Treasurer of the Akatsi South Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has dared the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon Hawa Koomson to replicate her recent controversial lawless actions in the Volta Region if she is a woman strong enough.
In a facebook post today, Mr. Akpabli, affectionately referred to as Avenor Okudzeto, emphatically asserted that Hon. Hawa Koomson’s behavior has been exceedingly dangerous, reprehensible, and downright atrocious to the principles of Ghanas democracy. He challenged her to transport her lawless propensities to the Volta region, where he implied she would receive a fitting corrective, effectively ‘administering a remedial dose of discipline to her egregious misconducts.
He added that “If Hawa Koomson and her cohorts think they can intimidate and bully others, they should come and try it in Volta too. We are ready for them, we have their medicines.” His comments were met with thunderous applause from the crowd of NDC supporters and a section of Ghanaians.
This statement comes on the heels of Minister Koomson’s recent involvement in a violent incident in the Central Region, which has sparked widespread condemnation. Hon. Akpabli’s remarks are seen as a direct challenge to the Minister and a testament to the NDC’s resolve to stand firm against perceived oppression by the NPP which led to the arrest of Hon. Naa Koryoo the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate in the Awutu Senya East yesterday.
The Deputy Treasurer’s statement has already generated significant buzz in the political circles of the country, with many interpreting it as a sign of the NDC’s determination to defend its interests in the face of perceived aggression by the ruling NPP government.
He also advised Hawa Koomson to start preparing her handing over notes as Member Of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency as the people will give her a showdown in the December 7th polls.
