While some critics want to use practises in Judaism to scorn the Christian position against idol practises and rituals, other Christians also seek to marry Christianity and Judaism. However, Christianity is not Judaism and had never been. There is a fundamental difference between Judaism and Christianity. And that is, Judaism is still seeking God while Christianity reveals God.
This is what I mean by seeking God.
✓In Judaism, God must be known through sacrifice. In Christianity God is being revealed through the gospel because Jesus Christ has done the sacrifice through His death. Besides Jesus Christ is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. By rejecting Jesus Christ, Judaism is now stuck in dead works in the futile search for God.
✓ In Judaism man is still struggling with sin consciousness and have to have their conscience cleanse through rituals continually. In Christianity we have had the cleansing through the eternal blood of Jesus Christ. And we are sanctified once for all by the grace working through the blood.
“Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will WE HAVE BEEN SANCTIFIED THROUGH THE OFFERING OF THE BODY OF JESUS CHRIST ONCE FOR ALL.” (Hebrews 10:8-10)
✓ In Judaism Moses is their redeemer. But Moses is limited. He couldn’t provide them salvation, neither could he even lead them to the promised land. But Jesus is far greater than Moses. The Bible says,
“For this One [Jesus Christ] has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house.” (Hebrews 3:3).
“Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, A VEIL LIES ON THEIR HEART. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now THE LORD IS THE SPIRIT; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (Hebrews 3:12-17)
Always remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Spirit, Moses is not. Therefore, Judaism is not and can never be Christianity, though our Lord Jesus Christ was a Jew. He is no more a Jew because we no more know Him after the flesh.
“Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.” (2nd Cor. 5:16)
