A tragic incident occurred at Kasoa American Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, where a 12-year-old boy named David was swept away by the Okludu River after a heavy downpour.
According to eyewitnesses, David was on his way to pick up his siblings from school when the incident happened. His slippers fell into a gutter, and in an attempt to retrieve them, he followed them into the Okludu River. Unfortunately, the strong currents pulled him in, and he was carried away.
The whereabouts of the victim are currently unknown.
An eyewitness who is also the Ewe Chief of American Town Togbui Amamasor has been narrating to the media how it happened l.
On his part, the Assemblyman for American Town Electoral Area, Hon. Shaddrack Boakye Yiadom noted that a search embarked on search last night but was proven futile and for that traditional leaders in the area are yet to perform rituals to help locate the boy’s remains.
