Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has made a remarkable leap to the top of the NDC presidential race, now leading among general voters, according to a recent poll by Global InfoAnalytics.
The latest data from the “all voters model” shows Dr. Forson surging from third place with 11% support in April 2025 to a commanding 25% in April 2026, placing him ahead of the competition.
This surge contrasts sharply with the decline of former Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who had led the race with 24% support but has since dropped to 11%. Her fall follows a period of illness that appears to have significantly impacted her popularity.
Asiedu Nketia has also made gains, rising from 9% to 20%, moving into second place. On the other hand, Haruna Iddrisu, who held second place with 17% a year ago, has seen minimal growth, edging up only slightly to 18% and now sitting in third.

The trend data further highlights Dr. Forson’s rise. After peaking at 19% in July 2025, his support dropped to 14% in October before rebounding to 16% in January 2026, and then accelerating to 25% by April 2026. This represents the most significant upward movement among all the candidates.

In contrast, Haruna Iddrisu’s support has gradually declined from 23% in July 2025 to 18% in early 2026, while Asiedu Nketia has steadily gained ground, benefiting from shifting voter preferences alongside Dr. Forson’s rise.
