A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics reveals a tightening contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 elections. The survey, shared by Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, on April 13, 2026, shows Asiedu Nketia still leading the race, but his margin has significantly decreased.

The poll indicates that Asiedu Nketia’s lead has shrunk from 16 percentage points in Week 1 to 10 percentage points in Week 2, signaling increasing competition within the party. In the latest survey, Nketia secured 29 percent of the vote, with Ato Forson in second place at 19 percent. Haruna Iddrisu garnered 11 percent, while Julius Debrah and Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang each received 8 percent.

Notably, 24 percent of respondents remain undecided, suggesting there is still considerable uncertainty in the race.

In comparison, the Week 1 results showed Asiedu Nketia leading with 28 percent, but with a much larger undecided bloc at 36 percent, and other contenders trailing far behind.

The narrowing gap highlights that while Nketia is still the frontrunner, his dominance is being increasingly challenged as the race intensifies, and it remains unclear which candidates will ultimately throw their hats into the ring.
