According to reports from England, Arsenal has reached a deal in principle to extend Bukayo Saka’s contract for two years beyond its expiration in 2024. Arsenal correspondent, David Ornstein, shared the news on Twitter but clarified that nothing has been officially signed yet.
🚨 Arsenal have an agreement in principle on a new contract for Bukayo Saka. Long-term deal for 21yo England international attacker not signed + may take some time to complete, but now in place. Fantastic news for #AFC @TheAthleticFC after @SamiMokbel81_DM https://t.co/cCjpgD29Ut

The club has been working to secure Saka’s future for some time, as they were at risk of losing him to other top clubs once his contract expired in 2024. If this were to happen, Arsenal would have had to sell Saka at a price lower than his valuation or risk losing him for free in 2024.
However, with this agreement in principle, Arsenal can rest easy knowing they have secured one of their star players. Saka, who has contributed nine goals and eight assists in 23 Premier League games this season, has been a crucial part of Arsenal’s success this year.
Furthermore, Saka embodies Arsenal’s culture, having spent ten years in their academy. As such, Arsenal is eager to keep him on their team for as long as possible. While nothing has been signed yet, Arsenal will be relieved if they can finalize the deal and keep Saka in their squad.
