Parliamentary Select Committee on Health and CHAG paid a working visit to Berekum Holy Family Hospital

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health and the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) have paid a working visit to Berekum Holy Family Hospital and the Berekum Nurses and Midwifery College in the Bono region to ascertain the progress and challenges of the health institution to help the committee take enormous decisions in improving the welfare of the staff and effective health delivery.

 

During the Visitation, the Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Juaboso Constituency in the Western North region, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akando said that issues related to health services are paramount in the country hence the need for the committee to embark on an exercise that will give them access to first-hand information relating to the progress and challenges of the institution to help them take decisions towards enhancing the facility.

 

He emphasized that the committee has taken notice of various information that shall be addressed in due course to ensure the health facilities are well equipped and supported for effective health care delivery.

 

Mad. Monica Nkrumah, Principal of Nurses and Midwifery Training School Berekum Holy Family Hospital expressed gratitude to the Members of the Committee for the visit in ensuring their needs and deficiencies are attended to. She again expressed appreciation to the government and the president for the continuous support in the payment of their bills and other necessities.

On his part, Sei Clifford, the SRC president of the Nurses and Midwifery Training School spoke on the need for the government to ensure the regular payment of the students’ allowance because the finances of the students are an environment that promotes effective learning amongst the students.
