The embattled Assin North NDC parliamentary candidate, Honorable James Gyaakye Quayson won the recent by-election ahead of NPP’s Charles Opoku and the LPG candidate with a promising margin.

The NDC fraternity after the outcome of the elections has developed a strong confidence in winning the 2024 upcoming general election due to what transpired at Assin North which they believed to be a clear indication of how Ghanaians oppose the NPP as a result of bad governance.

Speaking to Chief Osman Mmorndoe, a national communication team member of the National Democratic Congress in a discussion on High Morning Breeze, he noted that the victory for Mr. James Gyaakye Quayson is a victory for Ghana and a victory for justice and the entire NDC and later cautioned the NDC not to allow themselves to be driven away by complacency but must work extra harder to secure victory for the party in the 2024 general election.

He noted that the NDC victory in the Assin North constituency is a greater lesson to the NPP that their breaking the 8 agenda is just a slogan and so the NDC is capable of winning the general election but needs to work harder, be vigilant, and ensure a strong bond of unity to be able to capture more parliamentary seats in addition to the existing ones.

The outspoken communication team member therefore charged President Akufo Addo and the entire NPP to commence the preparation of their handing over note because they don’t have any opportunity to rule Ghana in the coming years as a result of their abysmal performance in government stressing that they will loose the 2024 election abysmally for NDC to win convincingly to be able to carry out its developmental agenda to safeguard the country the social and economic hardship.

He said for a ruling party that is poised for breaking an electioneering record losing a by-election with this greater margin despite all the monetary enticement denotes how the party has exhausted its usefulness to the masses.
