Pusiga DCE, MP Commission 6 Projects Including 6-Unit Classroom Block After Rainstorm

The Pusiga District Assembly, led by District Chief Executive . Aguuri Haruna Abdul-Rahim and the Member of Parliament for Pusiga Hajia Laadi Ayi Ayamba, has commissioned six different projects for the people of Pusiga District.

 

The projects include a 6-unit classroom block at Ningkogo, a CHIPS compound at Yariga No. 2, a teachers bungalow at Bulpesi, 10 boreholes, and another school block .

 

Speaking to the media at Ningkongo, where a rainstorm ripped off 6 classrooms belonging to the primary school, the DCE Aguuri Haruna Abdul-Rahim said they came together to push the contractor to fast-track work on the new 6-unit classroom block, to accommodate students while measures are being put in place to replace the ripped-off building.

 

According to the DCE, the NDC government is ready to address all issues facing Pusiga. He noted that, the commissioning is to serve the people’s needs and urged residents to expect more from the NDC government.

 

 

The Headmistress of Ningkongo Primary School Ruth Abossah, narrated how the storm affected them. She said they had no option but to compel students to use the ripped-off building for teaching and learning because there was no other place.

 

She therefore thank the authorities for their swift action in providing this 6-unit classroom block for learning.

 

 

Meanwhile, Pusiga Education Director Iddrisu Aboko, said the district is currently facing a major challenge with teacher staffing. According to him, teachers posted to the area keep leaving the district, and no classroom in Pusiga has adequate teachers.

 

He appealed to parents to encourage teachers to stay and teach the children.
