GoldBod Purchases 135.843 Tonnes of Gold in 16 Months — 98% from ASM Sector, Deputy Finance Minister Reveals

Deputy Finance Minister, Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has revealed that the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) purchased a total of 135.843 tonnes of gold between January 2025 and May 2026.

 

According to him, about 98% of the gold acquired by GoldBod during the period was sourced from the artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) sector.

 

He explained that the figures highlight the significant contribution of small-scale miners to Ghana’s gold output and the operations of the GoldBod within the stated period.
