BKB’S REPORT

The Headmaster of Gomoa Fetteh Church of Christ D/A Basic School, Mr. Collins Dzidonu Atsem, has appealed to the government, philanthropists, and other stakeholders to support the school with a fence wall and improved infrastructure after robbers broke into the school and made away with a refrigerator and other valuable items.

During his address speech at the school’s 30th Anniversary and Prize-Giving Day celebration, Mr. Atsem said the school remains vulnerable to intruders due to the absence of a perimeter fence around the compound.

According to him, portions of the school’s roofing have been ripped off by heavy rainstorms, exposing pupils to harsh weather conditions and making teaching and learning difficult.

He further disclosed that suspected robbers invaded the school premises after school hours, broke into the school’s storage room, and stole a refrigerator and other valuable items. He attributed the incident to the lack of adequate security and a fence wall around the school compound.

Meanwhile, the Gomoa East District Director of Education, Miss Francisca De Graft Johnson, urged parents to prioritize the education of their children and reduce excessive spending on funeral cloths and other social activities.

She emphasized that investing in children’s education is the best way to secure their future and contribute to national development.

On his part, the Chief of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Abor Atta II, announced plans to launch an educational fund to support brilliant but needy students in the community to pursue higher education, particularly at the university level.

He expressed confidence that the initiative would help improve educational outcomes and create more opportunities for the youth in the area.
