The Chief Executive Officer of Agona Nyarkrom Community Bank, Mr. Kaedebi Donkor, has appealed to government to consider reducing taxes on community banks to help improve their operations and support economic growth.

Mr. Donkor made the appeal during the Bank’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the launch of activities marking its 50th anniversary celebration at Agona Nyarkrom in the Central Region.

According to him, high taxes continue to place pressure on community banks, making it difficult for them to expand their services and provide more financial support to customers, especially small businesses and farmers in rural communities.

He noted that community banks play an important role in local economic development and therefore deserve policies that will help them grow and remain competitive in the banking sector.

Mr. Donkor also expressed appreciation to customers, shareholders, and staff of the bank for their commitment and support over the years, which has contributed to the success and growth of the institution.

Speaking at the event, the Paramount Chief of Agona Nyarkrom Traditional Area Okofo Katakyi Nyarko Eku X encouraged staff and shareholders of the bank to continue working hard towards improving the fortunes of the bank.

He commended the management of the bank for its contribution to the development of the area and pledged his continuous support towards the progress of the financial institution.

The event also marked the official launch of the bank’s 50th anniversary celebration, with management promising a series of activities to commemorate the milestone achievement.
