Awutu Senya East Records Smooth and Credible Conduct of BECE 2026

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Education Directorate has expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the municipality, describing the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and largely incident-free.

A total of 8,681 candidates — made up of 4,277 boys and 4,404 girls — sat this year’s examination at 32 centres within the municipality.
According to the Directorate, the examinations have so far proceeded smoothly, with no major incidents of examination malpractice recorded. Authorities say the development has helped preserve the integrity, credibility, and sanctity of the BECE process in the area.
Management attributed the success to the strategic leadership and commitment of the Municipal Director of Education, Mr Kow Etrue-Hayford, whose supervision and proactive measures played a key role in ensuring discipline and compliance with examination regulations.
Ahead of the examinations, the Directorate organised a series of stakeholder engagements aimed at addressing the growing concern over examination malpractice. The meetings focused on practical strategies to promote ethical conduct among candidates and stakeholders while strengthening monitoring systems at the various centres.
The Directorate noted that the collaborative efforts and support of stakeholders contributed significantly to the smooth administration of the examinations.
Management extended appreciation to several individuals and groups for their contribution to the process, including the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Phillis Naa Koryor Okunor, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Seth Serwornoo Sabah-Banini, members of the Municipal Education Oversight Committee, the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools, teachers, supervisors, invigilators, and the candidates themselves.
Special commendation was also given to the monitoring team, supervisors, and invigilators for their professionalism, vigilance, and strict adherence to examination guidelines throughout the exercise.
“The collective dedication of stakeholders to discipline, transparency, and academic integrity has played a pivotal role in ensuring a credible and incident-free examination process,” the statement noted.
The Directorate further reminded candidates offering Arabic Language that their paper will be written on Monday, 8 May 2026, urging them to report to their respective centres on time and comply fully with examination regulations.
Management also praised candidates for their comportment during the examination period and expressed optimism about improved academic performance across the municipality.
