NDC Chairman Asiedu Nketiah Debunks “Mahama Wode Yen Ka” Social Media Claims

​NYINAHIN, ASHANTI REGION — The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has hit back at a viral social media video featuring a farmer claiming “Mahama Wode yen ka” (Mahama owes us).

 

​Speaking during his “Thank You” tour in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah clarified the emerging challenges within the cocoa industry, dismissing the cocoa farmer’s claims as a misunderstanding of the sector’s current financial landscape.

​Addressing a gathering in Nyinahin, the National Chairman stated that a future NDC government is committed to revealing the “secrets” and financial dealings currently hindering the cocoa industry. He explained that any previous adjustments or perceived debts were strategic efforts to stabilize the sector and ensure long-term sustainability.

​He emphasized that the NDC’s policy on cocoa price increases is designed for the collective benefit of the nation, regardless of the “misinformation” being spread by political opponents.

​”The NDC remains dedicated to the socio-economic well-being of all Ghanaians. We urge constituents to be discerning with their votes and caution against supporting parties that fail to deliver on their promises once in power,” Asiedu Nketiah stated.

 

​The National Chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to addressing local infrastructure deficits. He assured residents of Atwima Mponua that under an NDC administration, all stalled and ongoing projects would be prioritized to improve general living conditions.

 

​He concluded by promising that concrete measures are being finalized to ensure that every initiative promised to the district is fully realized.

​The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Ibrahim Issahak, also addressed the crowd, outlining a series of successful interventions undertaken during the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.This include, Development of new classroom blocks to strengthen local schooling and provide a conducive learning environment. Ongoing road reshaping projects to improve connectivity and transport for farmers within the district, Installation of several mechanized boreholes to enhance access to clean water, Introduction of a youth apprenticeship program designed to equip young people with practical skills for self-reliance. The groundbreaking of new CHPS compounds and additional school infrastructure to serve rural communities.

 

​Hon. Issahak urged the people to remain steadfast in their support for the NDC, citing these projects as evidence of the party’s track record in the district.
