Brandon Thomas-Asante Helps Coventry City Secure Premier League Promotion
Brandon Thomas-Asante has played a pivotal role in Coventry City’s promotion to the Premier League after a standout campaign under manager Frank Lampard. The Ghanaian forward was instrumental throughout the season, contributing to Coventry’s long-awaited return to England’s top flight, ending a 25-year absence.
Thomas-Asante has been one of the club’s key players, consistently delivering goals and strong performances, especially in crucial matches like those against Preston North End. In the EFL Championship, the top two teams after 46 games earn automatic promotion to the Premier League, while the teams finishing 3rd to 6th compete in the playoffs.
Coventry City secured their promotion with 85 points after 42 matches, finishing at the top of the Championship table. Third-placed Millwall could only reach a maximum of 85 points, while fourth-placed Middlesbrough finished with 84 points. With a superior goal difference of +42 compared to Millwall’s +9, Coventry’s place in the Premier League was effectively confirmed.
This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for the club, and for Brandon Thomas-Asante, it will be his first appearance in the Premier League.
