BKB’S REPORT
The Church of Pentecost at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region was thrown into chaos after suspected landguards attacked worshippers during an Easter convention held at the Nyanyano Chief’s Palace frontage.
According to reports, the service was abruptly disrupted when a group of men, believed to be landguards, stormed the premises on motorbikes, forcing the congregation to halt the program.
The church had invited the two rival chiefs of Gomoa Nyanyano to grace the occasion. However, due to the ongoing chieftaincy dispute in the area, only one faction honored the invitation.
This reportedly triggered the opposing faction to invade the event and disrupt the service.
Police personnel from the Kasoa Central East Regional Command quickly responded to the situation to restore calm and prevent any escalation into violence.
Leadership of the Church of Pentecost in Gomoa Nyanyano has so far declined to comment publicly on the incident.
Tensions in Gomoa Nyanyano remain high following the unresolved chieftaincy dispute after the demise of Nana Wiabo V.
No arrests have been made at the time of this report.
Meanwhile, the Gomoa Nyanyano Police Commander has suspended all public activities in the area as a precautionary measure to prevent further clashes.
