Minority Leader Calls for Refunds for Disqualified Ghana Security Service Applicants
Accra, Ghana – Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged that applicants disqualified from the ongoing Ghana Security Service recruitment due to technical challenges be refunded their application fees.
The call comes after many applicants, particularly from rural areas, encountered difficulties with the AI-powered aptitude tests, which were reportedly inaccessible for those lacking adequate technology and training.
Afenyo-Markin emphasized that the disqualified applicants should not bear the cost of a process that failed to accommodate them. “The system failed to accommodate many applicants, and they should not be penalized for it,” he stated.
While some support the proposal for refunds, others defend the adoption of AI in recruitment, citing its potential to modernize the process. The debate has sparked a wider discussion on the role of technology in public services and the importance of inclusivity.
