NPA Assures Public of Adequate Fuel Stocks Despite Global Market Uncertainty
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has assured the public that Ghana has sufficient fuel stocks to meet national demand despite concerns about developments in the global energy market.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Authority said the country’s petroleum supply situation remains stable and there is no cause for alarm.
According to the NPA, current stock levels of petroleum products—including petrol, diesel, aviation turbine kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas—are adequate to support both present and projected consumption across the country.
The Authority noted that it is closely monitoring developments in the international oil market and is working with industry players to ensure that Ghana’s fuel supply chain remains uninterrupted.
The NPA further indicated that it continues to collaborate with the Ministry of Energy and other stakeholders within the petroleum sector to maintain stable supply and pricing conditions in the local market.
The assurance comes amid growing public concerns that tensions and uncertainties in the global energy market could affect fuel supply and prices in Ghana.
However, the Authority emphasised that there is currently no shortage of fuel in the country and urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying.
The NPA reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s petroleum supply and ensuring that fuel remains readily available across the country.
