Madina Fire Outbreak: Flames Ravage Wooden Structures at Ritz Junction

‎An intense blaze ripped through several wooden structures at Madina Ritz Junction in Accra on Tuesday, July 15, prompting a swift emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

‎The inferno, which erupted in the early hours of the day, quickly consumed a cluster of wooden sheds and kiosks, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and leaving many residents in panic. The densely built structures allowed the fire to spread rapidly, heightening fears of further damage and potential casualties.

‎In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the GNFS confirmed that three fire tenders from the Madina, Legon, and Abelemkpe fire stations were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters are said to be working around the clock to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties.

‎“Rigorous firefighting operations are currently underway,” the GNFS noted. “Trust your gallant firefighters to swiftly work hard to bring the situation under control.”

‎As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown. There have been no confirmed reports of injuries or fatalities, but eyewitnesses say several structures have been completely destroyed.

‎Authorities have urged the public to stay away from the affected area to allow emergency teams to carry out their operations without obstruction. An investigation is expected to be launched to determine the source of the fire.
