Devine Deh, an activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has condemned the digitalization initiatives of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration as a “charade and a scam.” Speaking at the launch of the NDC Youth Manifesto in Accra on August 12, Deh criticized the current administration’s approach, asserting that a John Mahama-led government would deliver a genuine digital economy.

Deh praised Mahama’s track record with digital projects such as the Accra Digital Centre, promising that a Mahama administration would bring authentic digital advancements to Ghana.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer, also voiced his commitment to Ghana’s youth, emphasizing his dedication to creating a brighter future. In his comments during the manifesto launch, Mahama vowed to address the misuse of public funds under the Akufo-Addo administration and recover any allegedly stolen resources if elected.

Mahama highlighted the worsening situation for young people, including high unemployment and diminishing opportunities. He criticized the current administration’s handling of education and rising public debt, which he believes has exacerbated hardships and led to a growing sense of hopelessness.

“Our neighborhoods are dirty, and rising public debt has exacerbated hardships. This has led to a deep sense of hopelessness. I understand your frustration and fears. We cannot give up now. I believe in your potential and am committed to creating more opportunities,” Mahama stated. He promised to use the next four years to reset the country and work for everyone, especially the youth, and urged voters to support him and his running mate, Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female Vice President.
