The Member of Parliament for Dormaa East District of the Bono Region, Hon Paul Apraku Twum Barima has organized free Health screening and football games for the people of Kyeremasu, a suburb of Dormaa East to keep them sound and healthy.
According to the MP, “your health is your wealth” hence he thought it necessary to embark on routine health screening and football games for his constituents to enhance a healthy community for the betterment of the District.
He encouraged people with kidney infection to visit the hospital for treatment since government has subsidized the cost of dialysis for the treatment of kidney disease stressing that issues of health should not be politicized hence people must do away with politics and patronize the subsequent health screening.
Madam Philomena Effah Darkoaa, a nurse who was part of the health screening exercise revealed that Dormaa East is predominantly prone to HIV and TB therefore she urged the public who are diagnosed with these infections to take their medications seriously to avoid unforeseen circumstances.
She added that people feel stigmatized hence they are educating the masses to visit the hospital for drugs to reduce the effect of TB that leads to stigmatization emphasizing that they are prescriptions drugs in addition to the free health screening for those who are diagnosed with any infection to get medication to fight the detected disease.
Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for his consistent support of the health condition of his constituents.
