David Moyes has announced that he will leave West Ham United at the end of the season, bringing an end to his three-year tenure as manager. Moyes, 59, has been in charge of the Hammers since 2020 and has led the team to mid-table finishes in each of his seasons in charge.
While Moyes has stabilised the club and improved their defensive solidity, his reign has been marked by inconsistency and a lack of progress in the league. The Scot has also been criticized for his tactics and team selection, which have often been seen as overly cautious.
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved at West Ham, but I feel that it’s time for a new challenge,” Moyes said in a statement. “I wish the club all the best for the future and thank the fans for their support during my time here.”
Moyes’ departure marks the end of an era for West Ham, who will now begin the search for a new manager to take the team forward.
