According to a source, Manchester United has made a serious attempt to sign Ligue 1 star Leny Yoro, but they will have to contend with Manchester City.

The top players from the French league are always sought after by English teams, and the center-back is expected to be among them when the January transfer window opens.

Leny Yoro is being considered by both Manchester United and Manchester City.

After erratic play this season, Erik ten Hag is eager to bolster his defense.

Pep Guardiola’s team is in jeopardy as the league crown is gradually slipping away after four straight draws.

Le10 claims that both managers are keeping a close eye on Lille defender Yoro in an attempt to win them back.

The teams allegedly made a “very concrete move towards Ligue 1” for the wonderkid, according to the French outlet.

It is said that before to the January window, the teams communicated with Lille.

Yoro, who made his debut as a senior in May 2022, is among the most gifted prospects in the French league.

With Eden Hazard in third place, he is the second-youngest player in Lille history.

However, it’s reported that the Ligue 1 powerhouses are “pushing very hard to try and keep their player by extending his contract.”

The contract of the France U21 player expires in June 2025, thus there is still one more term remaining on it.

Lille, though, is rumored to be amenable to working out a solution that benefits all sides.

Yoro has only made six appearances thus far this season, but he has two goals in the Europa Conference League and Ligue 1.

Yoro would follow in the footsteps of other former Ligue 1 players like William Saliba if he choose to transfer across the Channel. Jeremy Doku, Bryan Mbeumo, and Bruno Guimaraes.
