On Friday, 3rd March 2023, President Akufo-Addo presented awards to the boys and girls, who excelled in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Basic Education Certificate Examinations. Out of the hundreds of thousands of other students who sat the examinations, the seventy-two (72) awardees were adjudged to be the best, and it is only fitting and proper that the nation recognizes their efforts.

President Akufo-Addo says It always gives him a great delight to interact with brilliant and talented young people like you, because He have the assurance and hope that the future of this country is in safe hands. Inevitably, the leadership of this country will be in their hands one day. It is a heavy responsibility.

They will be part of the story of whether this country will still remain somewhat dependent on foreign assistance, or it will be a proud nation, largely mobilising its own resources to take care of its needs.

President Akufo-Addo urged them not to allow their current successes to get to their head, because this is only the beginning. He urged them to continue to work hard, in order to maintain their standards. Honesty and integrity are important values in any worthwhile existence.
