John Mahama Begins Three-Day Tour in Central Region to Rally Support for NDC Flagbearer Position

On March 28, 2023, John Mahama, an aspiring Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), kicked off a three-day tour in the Central Region of Ghana.

 

The tour aims to meet with delegates, including branch, constituency, and regional executives, to persuade them to vote for him in the party’s Flagbearer election slated for May 13, 2024.

The tour started in the Awutu Senya East Constituency and will proceed to Gomoa East, Gomoa Central, Agona East, Agona West, and Effutu Constituencies.

 

The next day, March 29, 2023, Mahama will visit Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Ekumfi, Gomoa West, Mfantseman, Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Cape Coast South and North,Twifu Hemang Lower Denkyira, and Twifu Attimokwa Constituencies. On the third day, he will visit Upper Denkyira West, Upper Denkyira East, Assin North, Assin Central, and Assin South Constituencies.

The tour provides an opportunity for Party Executives and delegates to discuss the challenges the party is facing.

Four people, including Mahama, Former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, Former Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu, and businessman Ernest Kobea, have filed their Presidential nomination forms to contest the Flagbearer position of the party for the 2024 general elections.

 

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has already toured some Constituencies in the Greater Accra Region and is expected to visit other regions in the coming days. The other candidates are also expected to intensify their campaigns as the election date approaches.
