Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, is calling on Ghanaians to support the team ahead of their upcoming game against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The game, set to take place at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, kicks off at 19:00 GMT, with Ghana facing Angola on Matchday five of the qualifiers.

Otto Addo believes that fan support boosts players’ confidence, while too much criticism can be distracting and hurt their performance. He urged Ghanaians to stand by the team and reduce the criticism as they prepare to take on Angola.

“I ask for your support,” he said. “When players feel supported, they perform better. But in a harsh environment, it’s hard for them. They’re human, and they need our support. We all want Ghana to win and succeed.”

Addo, 45, also shared how the technical team is working to keep the players comfortable and confident for the match.

“Our staff is making them feel at home, reviewing both the positive and negative moments from past games. We created lots of chances in those matches, and now we need to work on scoring,” he added.

With only two points from four games, Ghana is in danger of missing out on the 2025 AFCON. However, following Niger’s recent 4-0 win over Sudan, Ghana still has a chance to qualify by winning their matches against Angola and Niger.
