🚨 FATAL ACCIDENT CLAIMS 8 LIVES ON CAPE COAST–ACCRA HIGHWAY
A tragic accident at Kormantse on the Cape Coast–Accra Highway has left eight people dead and five others injured, including a child and a truck driver.
The crash occurred around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, involving a Mercedes Benz (registration AS 4146-25) and a Hino truck (GW 5958-25). Reports from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) indicate the Mercedes Benz was traveling towards Cape Coast, while the Hino truck was headed to Accra.
Firefighters from the Mankessim Fire Station rescued two trapped victims, who are believed to have died instantly. The injured have been rushed to a nearby health facility for medical care.
With support from relevant authorities, the accident site has been cleared, and the highway has been reopened to traffic. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
