NDC communicator Hamza Suhuyini has cautioned against politicising the 24-hour economy policy, stressing that the initiative is a national development plan โ€” not a tool for partisan games.

Speaking on Channel One TVโ€™s Breakfast Daily, Suhuyini urged political opponents to raise legitimate concerns without dragging the policy into unnecessary political debates.

โ€œWe welcome credible criticism, but we wonโ€™t allow anyone to turn the 24-hour economy into a partisan football,โ€ he stated.

The policy, launched on July 2, aims to create jobs, boost exports, and promote productivity through round-the-clock activity in key sectors like agriculture and manufacturing.

Suhuyini highlighted youth empowerment and private sector collaboration as key pillars of the plan, especially in boosting rice and maize production for export.

โ€œWeโ€™re tailoring the policy to support the private sector and empower our youth, especially in agriculture โ€” this is how we drive economic transformation,โ€ he added.
