Details of a conversation between The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Pope, His Holiness Pope Francis has been revealed by Paul Adom Otchere, Host of Good Evening Ghana.
According to Paul Adom Otchere, the Pope looked at Dr. Bawumia and said positive things about his vision and love for Ghana, wishing him well.
Paul Adom Otchere who was not part of the delegation said he knows what the Pope would have told Bawumia by looking at pictures from the visit.
Paul Adom Otchere the Pope as reportedly saying: “I know the circumstances of what is happening in the world. There is a road that seems to open to men but that road leads to more destructive… The lord knows your heart and you desire good for Ghana and the lord will make it well with you…” he said.
During the meeting between Dr. Bawumia and Pope Francis which centered on strengthening diplomatic relations between Ghana and the Vatican, Dr. Bawumia and wife were seen smiling and happy in the presences of the Pontiff.
In addition to meeting with Pope Francis, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also engaged in talks with Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations.
Their discussions further cemented the strong ties between Ghana and the Vatican and explored avenues for cooperation on various issues of mutual interest.
One notable aspect of the discussions was the exchange of views on current international issues, particularly focusing on security challenges facing West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea.
