Pay your bills on time and desist from illegal electricity connections – VRA Boss warns
The Dormaa Central Manager of the Volta River Authority (VRA) Mr. Stephen Anim Peprah has encouraged residents of Dormaa Ahenkro and its surrounding communities to pay their electricity bills on time to avoid disconnection.
Speaking on Anopa Bosuo morning Show program on GIFTS FM, he expressed appreciation to Dormaa residents for their continuous efforts to ensure their electricity bills are paid stressing that he is enthused with their efforts.
He therefore signaled a word of caution to others who have engaged in illegal electricity connections to refrain from the act because it comes with strict punishment when you are caught.

He again justified the new adjustment of electricity tariffs that took effect on the 1st of July explaining that PURC cited the exchange rate as a major factor that contributed to the upward adjustment of the bills and pleaded with Ghanaians to bear with VRA/NEDCO and settle their debt on time to avoid frustrations.

Reacting to Bill accumulation claims by customers with new postpaid meters, he explained that VRA are mandated to embark on meter readings a month after the meter is fixed for their system to fully recognize and detect the new customer for subsequent meter readings and billing.
He said landlords/Ladies who have their 3 or 4 months’ electricity bills accumulated on Newly acquired postpaid meters as a result of the working conditions of VRA are given payment plan to make payments easier for customer.
