Mounir Hamoud, a former star of Norway U21, passed away at the age of 39.
The former defender unfortunately died on the first day of his new coaching career from a cardiac arrest.

For fifteen years, Hamoud competed at the highest level of Norwegian football.
He played for the previous team of Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, as well as the Scandinavian powerhouses Lyn, Bodo/Glimt, and Stromgodset.
Before retiring in 2019, Hamoud, who was primarily a left-back, scored 29 goals in 349 club games.
The star, who was born in Morocco, also competed for Norway in the U21 league, earning seven caps between 2004 and 2005.
The only trophy Hamoud has ever won was the Norwegian league championship with Stromgodset in 2013.
And after spending the previous four years in a comparable capacity at NFF Buskerud, he had just lately rejoined his old team in a new capacity as an elite player developer.
On the first day of his new coaching position with Stromgodset, Hamoud passed away suddenly.
And in a heartfelt statement, the Norwegians honored their former star.

In consultation with the next of kin, Stromosgodset and NFF Buskerud relay this information.
“We in Stromsgodset, Drammen, and the entire football family are all impacted by this cruel and upsetting statement.
Our sympathies are mostly with Mounir’s family and fellow survivors during this extremely trying time. A father, husband, brother, son, and a close family member have all passed away.
“Mounir was scheduled to start his first day of work as a new top player developer in Stromsgodset today. He has spent the last four years working as circuit manager for player development at NFF Buskerud.
We have lost a genuinely exceptional fellow human being in Mounir. He was outgoing, giving, inclusive, and upbeat.
“He was inspirational and very talented in his field. someone who took part and showed concern.
Someone we all eagerly anticipated meeting and for whom we all felt nothing but love and affection.
Above all, Mounir has left a lasting impression everywhere he has gone. As a professional, coach, player developer, and participant as well as a teammate.
As a fellow human being and coworker. A mourning person is Stromsgodset. The loss of Mounir Hamoud will be great.
