Mohammed Kudus dedicates goal against Sparta Rotterdam to Christian Atsu [VIDEO]

Ghana star Mohammed Kudus dedicated his goal for AJax against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday evening to late compatriot Christian Atsu.

Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday morning after being trapped under the rubble of his apartment for 12 days following the Turkey earthquakes on February 6.

Mohammed Kudus earlier released a statement commiserating with the family and friends of Atsu, who died at 31 years old.

When the 22-year-old scored a perfect goal from a free-kick as Ajax strolled to a 4-0 win over Sparta in round 22 of the Dutch Eredivisie.

After scoring the goal in the 84th minute, Kudus revealed an inscription on his shirt, saying “RIP Atsu”.

He has now scored 9 goals in 21 league goals for Ajax this season.
